THE PROCESS

How it works

  1. STEP 1

    Tell us online

Answer a few quick questions about you and what you need. It takes 2–3 minutes.

  2. STEP 2

    Talk with a lawyer

Zasco or Jessica will talk through your wishes with you by phone, video or in person. You then answer our detailed questions in your own time – partners each complete their own.

  3. STEP 3

    Review your drafts

We send your documents to read through within 3 business days of our conversation. Changes are simple.

  4. STEP 4

    Sign with us

Sign at our Gympie or Nambour office with the right witnesses. Can't get to either office? We have other signing options and will find one that works for you. We can also keep your original will in safe custody.

Is it time to update your will?

A will that was right a few years ago may not say what you want today. It's worth a review if:

  • you've bought or sold a home
  • you've married, separated or started a new relationship – in Queensland, marriage usually cancels an existing will
  • you have new children or grandchildren
  • your executor or guardian is no longer the right person
  • you're estranged from a family member, or worried someone may make a claim on your estate
  • it's been more than five years since you last looked at it
  • you don't have a will at all

Why EPOA and AHD matter

A will only works after you die. An enduring power of attorney lets someone you trust pay your bills and look after your affairs if illness or injury means you can't. An advance health directive tells doctors and family what care you would and wouldn't want.

Without them, your family may need to apply to a tribunal for authority to act – at a stressful time.

Questions

Who is this offer for?

Anyone who has been a client of Baldwins Lawyers before. Your partner is welcome too, even if they weren't a client.

Can my partner and I do this together?

Yes – the couples package covers you both. You each fill in your own form, because a will has to reflect each person's own wishes.

I don't live near Gympie or Nambour any more.

That's fine – we can talk by phone or video. Your documents need to be signed in front of the right witnesses, and we have other signing options if you can't get to either office. Give us a call and we'll work out the best way for you.

My situation is a bit complicated.

That's what we're here for – blended families, businesses, family trusts and overseas assets all need care. Fill in what you can, and we'll talk it through and quote a fixed fee before we start.

Is my information safe?

Your answers go securely to our firm and are used only to prepare your documents. See our privacy policy.

How long does it take?

Getting started takes 2–3 minutes. After we talk, our detailed questions take about 20 minutes, and you can save and come back. Most people are signed and done within 2 weeks.
